Increase awareness of and education regarding Merz products and technologies in the medical marketplace by driving conversion of key accounts and increased use of aesthetic brands through in-office physician education (Plastic Surgeons, Facial Plastic Surgeons and Dermatologists). Learn, understand, and teach physicians and relevant staff the accepted clinical best practices regarding the techniques, uses, and limitations of Merz products. Will require hands-on, in-office one-on-one demonstration as well as responding to clinical questions (both in person and over the phone), and objection handling, and may also require group presentations.
1. Providing in-field Clinical Training for the Merz Aesthetics brand facilitating account growth activities
a. Provide effective education on best clinical practices to physicians and appropriate staff in the assigned region.
b. Support sales Reps in converting key accounts to high volume facial contouring applications.
c. Some development of clinical educational supporting materials & collateral.
d. Aid in identification, training, & management of National Clinical Education Faculty.
e. Identify and maintain relationships with established key opinion leaders.
2. Field Clinical Specialist Role Responsibilities
a. Complies with existing malpractice insurance parameters and also established compliance guidelines specific to the FCS role: i.e. no off-label solicitation, no off-label injecting, etc.
b. Productivity: Meets or exceeds the minimum of 20 events per month in an effort towards account and Company growth.
c. Submits monthly log and supporting documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
d. Attends mandatory monthly teleconferences and other required internal meetings.
e. Maintains active licensure in the specific states for a given FCS. May only inject in those states in which the FCS is licensed and in which a given state allows for the level of the FCS to inject.
f. Impart best clinical practices of Merz Aesthetics during trainings.
g. Conduct yourself as a role model for Territory Managers.
h. Provide fair Territory Manager coverage via the FCS monthly schedules.
i. Self-manage travel schedule and secure travel arrangements in a timely, cost-effective manner.
3. Supporting any Merz internal clinical education activities
a. Participate in training opportunities, workshops and labs as required for new hires or continuing education activities.
b. Document and develop training materials for the above purpose required as needed. Includes Presentation writing and empirical thinking to “tell a story” from a clinical point of view.
c. Providing regular written communication of competitive environment.
d. Attend local, regional and national meetings as directed.
Education and/or Experience (years): Nursing degree and 2-5 years of clinical aesthetics injection experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Strong procedural, technical and anatomical competency of injection technique for facial aesthetic injectable procedures. Ability to establish clinical credibility with professional audience and articulate clinical truths regarding Merz products is required. Excellent writing and communication skills: reports, letters, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to effectively/efficiently manage ones own time and schedule.
