The Research Program Coordinator will work closely with investigators in coordinating and assisting with managing an HIV community outreach project in Baltimore. Responsible for outreach operations of the project in consultation with project management team, including supervision of field staff, training, petty cash, data tracking, communications with project partners, attending regular project meetings and other duties as appropriate. Supervise recruitment, consent, HIV pre- and post-test counseling, and providing education and referrals in community locations and venues in Baltimore. Foster public relations with community and venue representatives and maintain good relationships with community partner organizations. This position has a fixed end date of 9/30/2014.

Bachelor's degree in related discipline. Knowledge of community outreach methods, especially among MSM communities in the Baltimore area. Ability to work evenings and/or weekends. Knowledgeable about the community. The successful candidate must be attentive to detail, able to work independently and in a team setting, and able to interact with a variety of people. Some related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

JHU Equivalency Formula : 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.

Preferred Qualifications:
Related experience in HIV prevention and/or with LGBTQ individuals. Prior experience with study populations and/or other diverse populations. Valid driver’s license. MD CTR certificate.
