Scope of the Position:
This position is responsible for providing customer service, support, and engineering for in-building wireless voice and wireless LAN systems. He/She will need to provide professional on/off-site support for activation and troubleshooting of in-building wireless systems as well as provide remote telephone support for customers. The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert for all technical issues related to the Corning MobileAccess Product Family.

Essential Duties:
Manage relationships and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders such as engineers Provide remote and/or on-site support to customers about the technical details of the Corning MobileAccess product line. Create and/or execute acceptance test plans for new installations and upgrades. Troubleshoot, diagnose, resolve, reproduce and report software and hardware problems with MobilAccess equipment. Technical documentation for troubleshooting results (root cause, software, etc.) through Case Management and Quality Management systems. If they find trouble in the field they need to report it Troubleshoot interface between Corning system and customer’s network. Work with project manager and project team to do all the above. Interfacing with our design engineering resources to provide in depth technical responses to customers Provide training support and on site customer education about MobileAccess products Coordinate with R&D and PLM to research product capabilities, performance and field applications Contribute Tech App Notes providing details on the optimum strategies for effective implementation of our equipment

Travel requirements: This position requires extensive travel up to 60% to customer locations around the country.

Location requirements are: This position can be based in Vienna, VA or Chicago, IL (metro area).

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineer, Master’s degree in Telecommunications a plus 1-2 year experience commissioning and troubleshooting Distributed Antenna Systems A demonstrated ability to learn new products and/or technologies in a dynamic fast paced environment. Background in Wireless/Mobility/Cellular networks and Networking/Internetworking devices, protocols, and operating systems. Understanding of Cellular technology and trends. Understanding of 802.11 Wi-Fi technology and trends. A technical understanding of networking protocols and security mechanisms. Understanding of carrier network architectures used today to deliver data/voice/video services. Ability to effectively communicate various levels in the organization through all available mediums (verbal, listening, writing, presenting)
