Acts as the senior company engineering representative at critical or highly sensitive base or remote locations, including customer or supplier facilities. Acts as company contact in the field with customer and contractor personnel, exercising a high degree of tact, diplomacy and mature judgment, conforming to company policy directions with a minimum of supervision. Directs regular, special and integrated system test programs. Prepares and conducts special reports and presentations pertinent to company products and services, field operations or other applications. Plans, prepares and conducts on-the-job training as required in support of the foregoing activities. May provide work leadership for lower level employees. Acting independently or as team leader, performs various complex tasks requiring high degrees of independence and responsibility related to testing, adjusting, and troubleshooting electronic, electro mechanical, or mechanical subassemblies including one or more of the following: installing, field-testing, analyzing, modifying, and fabricating. Requires minimal supervision in the conduct of assignments requiring great versatility and technical competence. Always works under minimal supervision.As the leader of a field engineering team, executes complex measurements, tests, analyses, alignments, calibrations, and evaluations. Duties require technical familiarity with one or more major systems areas, such as communications, sonar, fire control, electronic warfare, radio direction finding, navigation, air traffic control, and radar. Duties may include inter-system electromagnetic compatibility assessments and improvements and electromagnetic interference identification and corrective action design. Reads, interprets, and works from technical data, test procedures, schematics, assembly drawings, and shipboard and/or facility drawings. Conducts on-site installation of equipment and performs tests to ensure proper functioning of the equipment. Applies good safety habits at all times.
Must have six years recent C4ISR or other relevant experience in large system design, testing, installation, and analysis, using ILS data and risk/trade-off analysis of several systems. In addition they should have senior project management experience for planning, scheduling and execution of large programs.
