The Field Medical Training Lead is responsible for planning and developing the training program for US Field Medical Employees (Medical Science Liaisons, Medical Science Nurse Liaisons and Medical Outcomes Science Liaisons) assuring the teams are prepared for field activity and maintain/enhance their scientific and business acumen. The role will oversee MS(N,O)L functional skills training and align/ coordinate/ guide MS(N,O)L scientific training across therapeutic areas (new hire and ongoing).
Scientific Education - Onboarding
a. Partner with MA operations office for NEO on dissemination of new hire core MS(N,O)L training materials
i. MAOPS Office + MS(N,O)L therapeutic area training lead
b. New Hire gap analysis with focus on MS(N,O)L requirements.
c. Additional requirements / skills not met by Foundation Training to prepare new hires for MS(N,O)L field requirements and execute against POA
d. Coordinate with GMA FMT + MS(N,O)L therapeutic area training lead
e. Practicums - MS(N,O)Ls engage in KOL scenarios utilizing MS(N,O)L tools and equipment (OL Engagement Skill)
f. MS(N,O)L specific assessment/sign off, ride-a-longs and post deployment follow up
g. New Hire Mentor Training
Scientific Education – Ongoing
a. Coordinate with MS(N,O)L Product team leads to identify needs and plan education throughout year
b. MS(N,O)L Journal Clubs with MS(N,O)L therapeutic area training lead
c. MS(N,O)L POA meeting/TA meetings with MS(N,O)L therapeutic area training lead
d. Congress/Scientific Meeting with MS(N,O)L therapeutic area training lead
e. Regional meetings (focus on local training needs) with MS(N,O)L Field Directors
f. Learning Days (therapeutic area training using KOLs) with MS(N,O)L therapeutic area training lead and/or MS(N,O)L Field Directors
a. Dashboards/reports - train to maximize utilization/improve effectiveness
b. Ongoing skills analysis - competency matrix vs. team abilities.
c. Coordinate skills workshops
d. Team and LT training surveys for continuous improvement
e. Coordinate Learning Days for USMA (1-2 day long didactic education by KOLs at academic center)
f. Incorporate state-of-the art learning technology
Candidate will have 5+ years of Medical Affairs experience with strong understanding of and/ or experience in the MSL/ MOSL/ MSNL role.
Advanced scientific or clinical degree (Pharm.D., Ph.D., MD) is required.
