Duties and Responsibilities
To operate and maintain oil and gas production and gathering equipment; operate and maintain compressors, associated equipment, and building facility; standard line heaters, hydrocarbon
separators, field storage tanks, wellhead dehydration units, pig launchers and receivers, boilers, various pumps; and gas measurement equipment; blow and lubricate wells and laterals; operate and maintain condensate stabilizer/reboiler; liquid-transfer facilities; and perform other duties as required.
Requires: frequent standing, driving a four-wheel-drive vehicle, and occasional bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, balancing and reaching. Individual will be required to work in extreme
temperature conditions, both hot and cold; in and/or around moisture; on slippery and/or uneven surfaces, in confined spaces; and at heights. Will be exposed to: noise; vibrations; nonionizing
radiation; salt water; chemical substances (i.e., well-treating chemicals, glycol, ambitrol, methanol, solvents, gasoline, natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons); irregular or extended work hours, rotating schedules and on-call.
Knowledge of: company standard practices, emergency plan, operating inspection, maintenance plan and all safety requirements; natural gas wellheads; standard line heaters; hydrocarbon
separators; field storage tanks; wellhead dehydration units; pig launchers and receivers; field or main line compressors; meter runs; flow meters; orifice plates; boilers; various pumps, blowing
and lubricating wells and laterals; operating and maintaining liquid transfer facilities, water plants and water disposal facilities.
Skill in: basic arithmetic and oral and written communications.
Ability to: lift items weighing up to 75 pounds; move items weighing up to 500 pounds with equipment assistance; use various hand tools and hoists; hear; see objects at close range and in
the distance; and distinguish colors and relationship between objects; understand and complete oral and written instructions; communicate effectively orally and in writing and receive and convey information.
Requirements: regular attendance; a valid driver’s license; an acceptable driving record; two years of experience as a field operator or comparable training and experience is strongly preferred; and adhere to all policies established by the company, including the QEP Resources Business Ethics and Compliance Policy.
