We are currently seeking a Field Operator in Price, UT to efficiently maximize production from assigned wells, maintain surface separation and flow assurance equipment, and report/review production data in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Position will work closely with operations engineers, construction and maintenance personnel, and engineers to optimize daily production in response to market factors, and management of all facilities and new installations in a safe, clean and responsible manner.

Lead and/or participate in daily tailgate meetings and JSEA reviews.
Prepare well production equipment, facilities and piping for maintenance or construction using energy control and Lockout, Tag out procedures.
Identify components, function and associated hazards of field production equipment and recognize level of impact on the system/process.
Maintain optimum operation of surface equipment including pumping units, separators, dehydration systems and CO 2 membrane unit.
Perform periodic maintenance on small natural gas fuel engines (pumping unit drivers).
Understand and maintain optimum operation of compressors, pumps and generators.
Seeks to understand process streams associated with well formations.
Perform troubleshooting of process and equipment with some supervision.
Check all wells to insure they are flowing correctly, producing at maximum rates; check gauges daily to verify loss or gain of fluids.
Ensure all daily production and well performance data are correctly accounted for using TOW and SCADA. Advise field supervision of any problems.
Check facilities for any problems. Report problems to field supervision.
Check to ensure that all chemical pumps are in working order and pumping the required chemical amount. Communicate any problems to field supervision.
Ensure all pertinent items are communicated daily to your relief in written form.
Ensure all housekeeping issues are taken care of during your shift.
Complete facility audits and corrective actions as required in a timely manner.
Complete the proper inspections for the Evaporation pit and fill out the necessary documentation and turn into the correct State authorities in a timely manner.
Complete the necessary training for DOT OQ and perform the required inspections and maintenance to the DOT Jurisdictional pipeline.
To learn and operate well diagnostic tools in a safe and efficient manner. Communicate issues and findings with Production Engineers and Production Supervision. Build plan to correct problems.
Be active to represent Marathon Oil’s values to state and local governments.
To qualify, you must exercise good people skills, be self motivated and ambitious with excellent mechanical abilities and ability to troubleshoot. Be willing to work Holidays and weekends, and take call outs. Be willing to represent the Company to state, federal and local officials, in emergency situations. Be able to lift heavy loads. Field or Production Operator experience, an understanding of gas well and compression operations or general oilfield exposure is highly preferred.
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience: No experience required, though prior oil field experience is preferred. Rod pumps and pumping equipment knowledge in CBM wells a plus.
Computer Skills: Must be able to use a personal computer including familiarity with MS Office and MS Excel.
General Knowledge: Must have basic mechanical knowledge and ability.
Troubleshooting: Must be able to use logical reasoning to troubleshoot and generate ideas for solutions to mechanical problems.
Environment: Must be able to work in extreme heat, cold, wind, and other weather conditions for extended periods of time.
HES: Must have the ability to recognize environmental and safety hazards in the field and communicate these to the proper personnel.
