Field Safety Technician
to join our Fertilizer Manufacturing plant located in Enid, OK. This will be a position designed to support safety functions within the plant and will provide significant support in required inspections. This position is primarily a field safety role targeted to support Operations and Maintenance with the required safety inspections. The Field Safety Technician will work within the safety functions to provide the following services:
Complete and document monthly supplied air respiratory inspections (i.e., SCBA, ASCBA, escape air packs) and arrange and support annual inspections. Maintain the listing of all SAR equipment.
Ensure emergency response equipment is inspected per regulatory requirements and documentation of inspections is maintained on file. Maintain the listing of all ER equipment.
Arrange for 5 year hydrostatic testing of air cylinders per their last hydrostatic test date.
Conduct monthly portable fire extinguisher inspections. Arrange for 6 year and 12 year hydrostatic testing of extinguishers as needed. Be the point of contact for professional fire protection service inspections.
Inspect and document weekly and monthly safety shower & eyewash inspections; ensure the annual safety shower and eye wash stations are conducted and documentation received. Ensure the annual safety shower and eye wash stations are conducted and documented.
Assist the RCM Utilities to ensure inspections of water fire systems and other equipment are inspected per their required regulatory frequency.
Portable air monitors maintenance and troubleshooting.
Assist with field safety and operations training, upon request.
Ensure fall protection equipment inspections are conducted and documented.
Participate on the plant's emergency response team, as needed
1+ years' experience working in a chemical or manufacturing environment
Proficiency with reading, writing and speaking English
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Strong attention to detail
Neat and organized
H.S. Diploma or GED
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Ability to wear the required PPE to be in the plant environment
Ability to climb stairs and ladders
Experience in conducting field safety inspections, documentation and follow-up action items with appropriate internal or external resources in EH&S function
Associate safety or science degree from an accredited university
