This position is responsible for providing Integration services and related support for integration of Telecom nodes and networks.
Perform Node / Network Integration activities (node implementations, expansions, reconfigurations, rehomes, HDWR testing, standalone node integration, network integration and acceptance testing) for Telecom Core and Access nodes, in LTE, UMTS, GSM and CDMA/EVDO networks.
Perform Integration activities in new and live nodes ensuring no In Service Performance (ISP) impact to the live nodes / network
Assume Integration lead role in rollout projects.
Assist / Support during contract/commercial negotiations, on the technical aspects (solution, scope & cost estimation) of the integration service delivery.
Create and test load relevant documents (test instructions, MOPs, solution description)
Interpret (Integration Analysis) of network rollout/integration plans into detailed level activity schedule for on-site activities.
Perform pre-integration site checks according to installed hardware and systems requirements to ensure that all the equipment is ready for integration.
Bring any standalone hardware into a functionally operational state.
Analyze system/network design principles, implement and troubleshoot the configuration of the new elements into the system and interfaces to gain resolution of any problems.
Execute Acceptance Test Plans. By performing series of test activities, demonstrate/prove network level functionality and services, which have been verified previously in test environment.
Prepare for system demo and acceptance as required.
Prepare and perform a hand over to other organizations
Create Integration complete reports. Document the results and log files for presentation to the concerned groups as part of a handover/delivery packages.
Participate in the Trials / FOA / FFI activities under the guidance of the appropriate supporting organization. Involvement in Interoperability/verification activities for competence build-up and resource staffing purposes.
Interface with the BUGS, PDU & PLM to ensure alignment with global strategy, methods and tools.
Solve complex implementation problems and shares knowledge in the Ericsson Global Community.
Support other organizations in Ericsson as and when needed to rectify technical issues and implement improvement plans.
Mentor and support less experienced engineers, encourage team work and assume technical leadership roles.
Highly developed working knowledge of Telecom systems and technologies.
Extensive experience of working on Ericsson Telecom nodes (Circuit Core Nodes - MSC-S, HLR, SCP, MGw, APG40/43, Packet Core Nodes - SGSN, GGSN, MME, SGW, MPBN, RAN - BSC, HBSC, BTS, RNC, RXI, Node B, eNB)
Good working knowledge in UNIX / LINUX
Thorough knowledge in TCP / IP
Thorough understanding of Ericsson business processes and work flow
Working knowledge and skills in use of computer systems
Ability to read cable color-codes and use hand and power tools
Valid drivers license
Ability to travel at short notice
Work overtime and/or nights as required
Education / Experience Requirements:
Bachelor Degree in Engineering or Computer Science; and a minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in technical area in a telecom company.
