Plans and coordinates activities concerned with installing equipment, investigating and resolving customer reports of technical problems with equipment, and eliminating future operational or service difficulties by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows all company policies and procedures as listed, but not limited to: warranty, safety, environmental, OSHA, DOT Hazmat, and ISO9000.
Travels to customer sites to evaluate, diagnose, and repair customer’s equipment.
Removes and disassembles cells and inspects parts to detect defects.
Replaces defective parts, reassembles battery, and fuses lead parts with gas torch.
Fills cells with acid solution and determines specific gravity of solution.
Washes, cleans, and neutralizes customer’s batteries at customer ‘s location.
Diagnoses and repairs battery charging equipment.
Installs, provides preventive maintenance, and repairs battery handling equipment.
Operates material handling equipment per OSHA requirements.
Installs new or modified equipment at customer's facility to ensure full functionality according to specifications.
Performs inspections and analyzes findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
Coordinates problem resolution with technical support, customer service, sales, and other personnel to expedite repairs.
Provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Maintains records of performance reports.
Provides a communication link between the customer and the company to help ensure that effective service is provided to the customer.
Develops and conducts training on the safe operations of the equipment and demonstrates skills to trainees, including both team members and customers.
Maintains a safe, orderly, and clean working environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.

A strong mechanical aptitude for battery and charger repair.
A basic electrical understanding.
The ability to quickly analyze and logically troubleshoot defective equipment.
Ability to operate various company vehicle types in a safe and competent manner. Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record with minimal traffic violations. Must be at least 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
Must be capable of and willing to obtain a Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with HAZMAT endorsement if required by local management.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
A desire to work independently on-site at customer locations.
The ability to analyze situations and make a decision, and provide immediate feedback to the customer.
