Develop basic knowledge of financial practices and principles
Enter accounting data with an acceptable level of speed and accuracy
Utilize and understand procedures, reference manuals, and system resource tools

Proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and take responsibility for implementing changes

Serves as back-up for others within the unit or department
The Accounts Payable Sales and Use Tax Unit of Corporate Tax has an opening for a support level employee. This unit is responsible for reviewing State Farm payments for compliance with state and local sales and use tax regulations.
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Review of system voucher payments for accuracy with state, city and local sales and use taxes.
Utilization of research tools to help stay current on legislation involving state and local sales and use tax.
Assistance with vendor invoice set up/efficiency in order to capture appropriate sales and use tax requirements.
Communication with internal departments, vendors, and external tax agencies for error processing, questions, and project requests.
Provide assistance to the sales and use tax audit coordinator when necessary.
Candidates applying for this position should demonstrate:
Proficiency with PeopleSoft purchase order or accounts payable voucher system (desirable.)
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel tool (desirable.)
Ability to work in a time sensitive and production oriented environment, balancing speed with accuracy.
Demonstration of good organization skills, comfortable multitasking.
Demonstration of strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical and research skills.
