Finance Associate (Immediate Hire) Democracy Prep Public Schools -

About the position:
The Finance Associate will support the Director of Finance with the management of finance and accounting for one or more of our campuses.
Responsibilities:
Perform regular accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, and assist with payroll processing
Assist with preparation of financial reports for school leaders and Board s of Trustees
Participate and support annual audit process
Assist with management of federal grants, disbursements, guidelines, and reporting in conjunction with school administrators
Wor ks with Operations Team and Director of Finance to coordinate purchasing of materials (e.g. uniforms, supplies & text books) and services (e.g. IT Consulting, auditors)
Required Core Competencies include:
Expert in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and extensive knowledge of QuickBooks or a similar accounting program
Strong understanding of statistics, regression, and data analysis preferred
Ability to prioritize, multi-task, delegate, and lead by example
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
Strong work-ethic, detail-driven, and a commitment to doing whatever it takes to get the job done
Prior experience in a charter school environment a plus.
Understanding and belief in the Democracy Prep mission and core values .
Educational Background and Work Experience:
2 years of experience in accounting and/or finance preferred
