Privately held, Biotechnology Company seeks a Finance Manager to lead the finance function for a dynamic growth opportunity within the company. The Finance Manager is responsible for analyzing and reporting on the progress of projects, investigating variances, reviewing business unit/project expenses, and creating project billings for projects within the respective business units.
Responsibilities will include the following:
- Analyze actual to budget variances and report on project profitability
- Assist company leaders with business planning and forecasting
- Prepare status reports for project leaders and attend project management meetings
- Create project-related billings to customers
- Implement and improve systems to ensure financial management reporting tools and processes are in place to support the ongoing and future needs of the business
- Prepare ad hoc management reports
Position will have significant interaction with the business unit leaders and varying degrees of involvement with the following:
- Business unit and project accounting and reporting
- Financial statement preparation and analysis
Ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- Strong understanding of job cost accounting, cost pools and indirect rate calculations
- Knowledge and experience with FAR, Cost Accounting Standards and DCAA audits
- Bachelors degree with 10+ years’ experience
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics GP, Management Reporter, Smartlists, Excel and pivot tables
- Excellent customer service attitude
- Aptitude and motivation to learn and assume new responsibilities
- Very hands-on and detail oriented
- Good verbal and written communication skills
