The Marketing finance team provides financial planning & analysis and business decision support for Schwab’s centralized Marketing enterprise. The team’s objectives are to help business partners maximize long-term returns through rigorous and fact-based analysis, support strategic decision making and planning, analyze and understand business trends, communicate business performance and facilitate trade-off decisions.
Brief Description of Role:
The Finance Manager will be responsible for providing planning, reporting and analysis support to the Marketing organization. The successful candidate will interact with business partners to develop expense plans and forecasts, provide ad hoc investment decision support, and communicate information to various colleagues within Schwab. This role is ideal for someone interested in helping to guide the marketing decisions for Schwab.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for the monthly close process.
Perform account reconciliations and data validations.
Develop forecasts and annual plan.
Identify and explain variance analysis for the monthly close, annual budgeting and periodic budget maintenance processes.
Assist in ad hoc analysis, including data research and financial modeling.
Analyze business trends.
Bachelor’s degree plus 3 years of related experience.
Understanding of finance and accounting principles and concepts.
Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and financial modeling.
Experience with PeopleSoft, Business Objects, and IBM Cognos TM1 Planning a plus.
Good communication skills.
Ability to interact with many different audiences and levels of management.
Demonstrated track record of managing several projects simultaneously.
Ability to synthesize data and summarize.
Highly motivated engaged self starter
Prior financial industry experience preferred
