Senior leadership and consulting for Financial, Commercial, and Risk Services within the Americas Water Sector with specialty focus on financial consulting for public and private utility clients.
Supervises multiple engagements simultaneously with overall responsibility for projects' profitability in accordance with client contract as signed. Responsible for client satisfaction including monitoring and intervention when necessary. Responsible for assigning the project team of Managing Consultants, Consultants, and Analysts to meet client needs within the allotted budget and time constraints. Responsible for the quality of services delivered for all teams under supervision. Performs project tasks in a supervisory role with direct client interface as required for client satisfaction and quality assurance.
Business Development Duties: Identifies new client opportunities; actively engages in multiple client service teams; initiates new client pursuits and proposals; assigns subordinate resources to pursuit and proposal tasks; leads major pursuits and proposals. Responsible for marketing budget performance for all pursuits/projects initiated. Overall responsibility for meeting assigned portion of Practice/Sector business development goals in terms of new business booked, and retaining existing clients. Responsible for leading client pursuits/proposals through all phases of the marketing pipeline from identification through award and contracting.
Practice Development Duties: Regularly participates in MWH internal Practice/Sector groups as well as industry groups at a national and international level including conferences, and discussions and is perceived by peers and industry leaders as an expert. Regularly publishes works or is otherwise visible in the industry. In coordination with the Director: plans, approves and manages best practices for the given Practice/Sector. Provides leadership, mentoring, and guidance for subordinate staff to learn best practices, and develops systems for implementing and managing compliance to best practices.
12 years experience as a recognized expert in utility financial matters with a proven background of project delivery for multiple clients and multiple types of financial engagements. Has provided expert testimony in court of administrative proceedings related to one or more of: utility financial planning/revenue requirements; cost-of-service allocations; utility rate design; utility valuation. Possesses expertise in private and government-owned ownership models applicable to the Sector. Extensive experience presenting engagement findings and recommendations in public forums; presenting findings in written or oral form.
Proven long-term track record of marketing and sales of utility financial services in financial planning, cost-of-service, rate design, and/or utility valuations. Demonstrated proposal writing skills; client interview experience; and experience leading proposal/pursuit teams. Demonstrated long-term client retention rates.
Experience leading groups/teams of financial subject matter experts in multi-disciplinary project teams. Demonstrated leadership ability; actively seeks and accepts responsibility leading to organizational success. Demonstrated ability developing junior staff and building scalable business models in the utility financial Practice/Sector.
