The Financial Accounting Administrative Assistant will provide clerical support for the Financial Accounting position as well as handle processes for Liberty National Life.
Primary duties & responsibilities consist of:
Coordinating filings with state departments including submitting quarterly and annual statutory statements, license renewals and other forms required by the states.
Makes payments to states for filing fees, premium taxes and other miscellaneous assessments.
Answers the phone for the Vice President of Financial Reporting.
Responsible for all clerical and minor administrative tasks and business details such as reading and routing incoming mail, composing routine correspondence, organizing and maintaining files, correspondence and other records, preparing check requests, and ordering and maintaining department supplies.
Other projects and/or duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Candidate must have proficient use of Accounting software, database software, internet, Access, Word and Excel.
Candidate must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Requires the ability to maintain confidentiality, excellent organization skills, written and verbal communication skills, ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Candidate must be able to type 30-35 wpm and 10-key by sight or touch
Demonstrated mathematical ability required.
Education & Work Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements: SOME MANDATORY WEEKEND WORKDAYS IN JANUARY/FEBRUARY. Moderate PC and phone usage. Occasionally bends/stoops, reaches above shoulder level and lifts up to 24 pounds. Rarely squats, crawls, crouches, kneels, balances or pushes/pulls.
