The Financial Aid Office at Piedmont Virginia Community College seeks an experienced Financial Aid Assistant familiar with federal and state regulations and with the ability to succeed in customer-oriented, technology-intensive work environment. This position will have as its' main responsibilities: exceptional customer service, reconciliations, fund adjustments, and answering the phones and working the front desk as needed. Other responsibilities will require working knowledge of Title IV regulations and experience in reviewing, verifying, and awarding federal and state financial aid. This position works closely with the business office and requires a person who is a creative problem solver and who has the ability to prioritize effectively and to provide the highest level of service to all clients, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Exercising tact and good judgment
Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty and the community
Associate Degree with substantial financial aid experience
Experience using PeopleSoft or another financial aid software
Strong customer service skills
Excellent organizational skills
Demonstrated decision-making and independent judgment skills
Effective interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience using ImageNow preferred
