Performs the more technically demanding financial aid duties, including oversight of various programs and activities. Positions in this classification typically have significant responsibility for coordinating daily office workflow and the consistent implementation of policies and procedures. Works with a diverse population of administrators, faculty, staff, students and the public.

Essential Functions

30% - Runs, reviews, and resolves all SIS reports; assists with maintenance, updating and troubleshooting SIS setup
25% - Coordinates and oversees office workflow
25% - Determines, reconciles and/or monitors student award adjustments; participates in and/or acts on student appeals
10% - Responds to difficult financial aid inquiries
10% - Prepares and conducts staff training; oversees updates to the financial aid department web pages

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four (4) or more years of experience in post secondary education financial aid involving significant technical and program coordination responsibilities
  • In-depth experience with Federal and State financial aid regulations and student financial aid guidelines
  • Experience supervising and directing full time staff
  • Experience with on line student information systems
  • Experience working in a environment with a high level of in-person diverse customer contact
  • Experience working in a high volume environment
Desired Qualifications

  • College degree in a related field such as Business, Education or Psychology
  • Experience working with an electronic student system such as People Soft Student Information System as it applies to Financial Aid Management
  • Experience managing and balancing a federal, state, and/or privately funded program
  • Experience developing and delivering public presentations
  • Experience with designing and updating web pages
Special Working Conditions

May be required to lift up to 20 lbs.; will be required to work evenings or weekends; may require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen; will be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD/GCC locations; may be required to attend off site training/workshops/conference; must have a valid Arizona Class D Driver's license; must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:
