The position requires at least a Bachelor's Degree and at least two years of prior-related higher education financial aid work experience. If applicants do not have a Bachelor's degree, they must have at least one year of college (30 semester hours) and then may substitute for up to three years of education at the rate of two years of higher education financial aid experience for each year of education. The substituted experience for education time is in addition to the required two years.
Substitution of Experience for Education Permitted (Non-faculty only)
The position counsels students, prospective students and parents on matters pertaining to Financial Aid. In addition, must also be familiar with Federal Financial Aid processing requirements. During the absence of the Financial Aid Manager, the Counselor will assist with the supervising of the Financial Aid office and staff.
Prefer applicants with: (1) more than two years of experience in higher education financial aid, (2) experience making internal and external presentations, (3) experience with student awards, filing and processing loan, and (4) fluently bilingual in Spanish and English (fluently able to read, write and converse).
Supplemental Job Information
This position requires some evenings and weekend hours, particularly peak registration periods. The position will conduct internal and external financial aid workshops.
