FINANCIAL AID OUTREACH REPRESENTATIVE
Conduct financial aid presentations for prospective and current students at college locations/events
Attend specified Academy events both off-site and in San Francisco, including but not limited to Open Houses, Open Studios, College Fairs, Industry Events, and other specified events
Communicate accurate, current, and comprehensive knowledge about financial aid, including, for example, information about FAFSA, tuition, room/board, internal processes and procedures
Analyze and evaluate student financial need and review funding sources including Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant, Pell Grant, Direct Loans, Private Loans and other financial aid programs
Inform and advise students and parents regarding eligibility and responsibilities of financial aid programs; interpret and explain policies, application procedures and availability of funding from various sources
Effectively and efficiently guide new students through the financial aid process
Review and remain familiar with Financial Aid Department policies, overall Academy procedures, and expectations for compliant behavior as demonstrated by rules and regulations promulgated by the U.S. Department of Education as well as Academy’s accrediting agencies and licensing bodies
Exhibit leadership skills and adherence to both Financial Aid Department protocol as well as overall Academy policies when communicating with students (or their families) and co-workers
Maintain a professional environment conducive to providing the best customer service possible at all times
Report compliance-related issues or concerns to Manager or to the Academy’s Executive Vice President for Financial Aid and Compliance
Consistently demonstrate commitment to Academy students, including a willingness to go above and beyond to ensure students are prepared for school and ready to achieve academic success
Effectively utilize all tools available, including database and software programs
Travel as required based on seasonal event schedule; Work weekends and/or evenings as needed
Perform other duties and assist with Financial Aid projects as may be assigned by Manager, COO, or Executive Office
Requirements:
Financial Aid experience preferred
Bachelor's Degree required
Must have previous administrative and customer service experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational, and time management skills.
Must be a proactive self-starter with great organizational skills.
Must have excellent engaging presentation skills. Must enjoy working with people and have an outgoing personality.
Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task in an fast paced environment.
Must be flexible and able to immediately adjust to rapid changes.
Must have a valid CA driver's license and good DMV record.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
