Role Purpose
This is a key role on the NBC Sports Group team, reporting to the Director of Production Finance, which provides the opportunity to be involved in financial operations for the NBC Sports Group. This role will be responsible for assisting with all financial aspects of the business, and requires understanding of accounting/finance and the ability to partner with Sports Operations, Production and the Sports FP&A team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the Payables process for the NBC Sports Network: process/post/and track invoices for payment and resolve issues with A/P, vendors, etc.
    Responsible for Entertainment Partners payroll process for NBCSN and Sports Broadcast
  • Monitor and clear error suspense accounts and ResQ, on a timely basis.
  • Work closely with functional areas, ie: Production and Operations, to understand all aspects of Sports production.
  • Preparation of journal entries.
  • Set up multiple monthly cost tracking models by pulling information from various sources used for month-end accruals.
  • Analyze cost variances in monthly cost tracking models; investigate any discrepancies to expected results and work with production department staff to resolve all issues related to show costs.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, as necessary

    Qualifications/Requirements
    Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in Finance and Accounting

    Desired Characteristics
  • Strong Oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer / analysis skills, particularly in Excel & PowerPoint
  • Experience with SAP Accounting / Business Warehouse Software a plus
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Television production experience/background a plus
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
