As a Financial Analyst in the Automotive Solutions Group, based in Livonia, Michigan and reporting to the ASG Business Unit Controller, you will serve as a finance partner to various groups throughout the organization. In this dynamic role, you will provide financial support primarily to Sales and Product Development activities including, budgeting, forecasting, internal reporting, and business analysis.
Coordinate with Program Management, Engineering, Sales and Marketing activities to budget and forecast operating expenses, both by functional activity and by customer development programs. Maintain forecast models (updated monthly) to track performance against budgets, including analysis of fluctuations. Prepare, review and distribute monthly financial reports for internal team leaders. Oversee time reporting to ensure engineering services are accurately allocated to projects and in compliance with customer obligations and internal policies. Review actual expenses to ensure accuracy and completeness; coordinating with corporate accounting support staffs. Analyze operational and cost data to identify cost drivers and underlying costs for activities and services, managing a cost model that can support scenario analyses. Produced, analyze and interpret monthly and quarterly financial performance reports for business unit functional leaders (with an emphasis on engineering and program management). Coordinate forecast cost and margins for product programs that result from the development activities discussed above. Participate in the annual budget and multi-year business plan process. Develop, maintain and distribute as-hoc reports and financial analysis as needed
Well developed analytical and technical financial skills. Substantial experience in the design and development of complex financial and commercial models, with the ability to clearly articulate underlying operational costs Ability to work independently and work well with others in a fast paced, dynamic environment Must demonstrates self-motivation, planning and organizing of work to achieve objectives within a short to medium term timeframe Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects Ability to complete projects with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required. Minimum of 3 years experience in accounting or financial analysis function. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly strong Excel skills Knowledge of ERP/Accounting software; proficiency with Oracle applications a plus
