The role is CMO Financial Analyst who is responsible for all expense management activities supporting CMO. This role is designed to provide quality financial support to the CMO and staff in order to enable sound business decisions. Areas of responsibility focus on expense and budget management, headcount planning and reporting and capital expense planning and reporting. This role will perform the expense functions needed within FP&A to properly account for and close books on a quarterly basis, perform full cycles and keep corporate FPA updated spending related to CMO, manage PO’s, PR’s and HC (including CW).
Close scrutiny of CMO spending remains a top priority, with focus on ROI, accountability, reporting of results, and cross functional alignment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring those activities occur by working closely with each budget owner in marketing. There are approximately 30 budget owners in marketing with average PO’s numbering over 1000. This role supports both corporate headquarters marketing as well as the 5 regional field marketing teams.
The role of marketing expense analyst is to provide quality financial support to the CMO and staff in order to enable sound business decisions. Areas of responsibility focus on expense and budget management, headcount planning and reporting and capital expense planning and reporting. The successful analyst will be viewed as a partner and consultant to CMO and staff.
Key Respnsibilities Include:
1. Expense Management : Working with department heads to manage and understand spending during course of quarter, highlighting risks and opportunities against plan. Specific tasks to be tracked and managed: PO management
Expense analysis and reporting
Capital analysis and reporting
HC tracking and reporting (including CW)
Monthly Close Package
Department Hierarchy maintenance
2. Budget Management : Lead organization’s semi-annual budget planning process and the setting of headcount, expense and capital details in accordance with corporate goals. Perform trending, variance and ad hoc financial analysis as required. Budgets to be completed and communicated prior to start of period being measured. Also be able to provide valuable information pertinent to long range forecasting and insights to business models. 3. Ad Hoc analysis as requested : Provide insightful information helpful to business partners in meeting their objectives and meeting manager’s objectives for success within the period. Specific tasks and measures to be defined quarterly.
