This position will work closely with a number of individuals in the Technology Alliance Team, the Technology Finance Team, Corporate Strategy Finance and External Reporting. This position provides a great opportunity to build on analytical, negotiation and organizational skills.

Primary responsibilities include:

Analysis responsibilities:

· Provide financial analysis and creative financial solutions for proposed R&D collaborations, alliances and licenses, as well as amendments thereto

· Work closely with Finance Portfolio Team and deal negotiation teams to create valuations for possible new technologies to acquire

· Document summary of and the accounting treatment for key agreements in white papers

· Quarterly technology intangible asset reporting and review for impairment

· Support Entity Review Team, including quarterly reporting and review for impairment technology equity investments

· Budget and LRP support for both Biotech and Chemistry licenses & agreements

· Work closely with External Reporting on DOA and BAC-UP coordination for key transactions

· Adhoc reporting for Royalty Obligations under technology agreements

· Support annual FAS 142 goodwill impairments test Complete valuations of each reporting unit and document key assumptions working closely with LRP Strategy Analyst and Treasury

Reporting and forecasting responsibilities:

· Lead the balance sheet review preparation and presentation, as well as provide support during audits

· Prepare P&L, Cash and Balance Sheet forecasts and LRPs for deals across Technology

· Adhoc reporting for Technology Finance organization (tax requests, SEC reporting and government reporting)

Compliance responsibilities working closely with the office of the CTO:

· Review of CTO’s expense reports ensuring compliance with CCPs

· Work closely with coordinator of CTO’s alternative customer outreach trips ensuring compliance with FCPA and CCPs
Required Skills/Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting

· Understanding and ability to communicate financial results to non-finance employees

· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential

· System Knowledge: Extremely strong Microsoft Excel capabilities and PowerPoint capabilities

· Results Oriented: Focused attention on planning to meet deadlines with quality work

· Problem Solving Capabilities: Curiosity and creativity to identify alternative solutions

· Initiative: Ability to work with various customers and balance priorities

Desired Skills/Experience:

· Knowledge of SAP, cost center reporting, and ARC.

· 5-10 years experience required in a Finance or Accounting role

· Knowledge of Monsanto Company Policies and Procedures
