JOB SUMMARY

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for delivering analyses that will enable business partners and executive leadership to make timely decisions and achieve desired financial results. This role plays an active part in forecasting, budgeting, financial modeling, and other various ad-hoc analyses.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform data, statistical, trend and financial analysis on a variety of initiatives that help to drive sales and maximize profitability
  • Create, analyze and produce components of financial reporting rhythms, such as revenue and margin rate analyses and/or forecast with identification of risks and opportunities
  • Provide senior leadership with tools to enhance and optimize the business by developing reporting methodologies and processes to identify trends and anomalies
  • Provide monthly operating statements to department heads and stores
  • Support business performance management and forecasting by providing understanding and visibility to actual financial results and business drivers
  • Provide financial reporting to support month end close, forecast, budget and long term financial modeling activities
  • Prepare operating budgets and forecast anticipated full year results
  • Provide monthly and census reports to banking community
  • Assist in developing processes and tools to continually improve forecast accuracy; including, among others, financial deep dives to validate actual expenses and understand key financial drivers
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis, open to buy activities, and exception based reporting
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4-year business or finance degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical, time management, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to provide analyses that consistently provide insights on “what the numbers are saying” and recommendations
  • Ability to check data for accuracy and to challenge unreasonable assumptions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving team environment and across functional groups
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills as this position will interact with all areas of the business
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience in a retail environment
