Financial Analyst
Borrego Solar Systems, Inc seeks a Financial Analyst to join our team in San Diego, CA.

The primary responsibility of this position is for the cash management of the Company’s working capital. This position is dedicated to assisting the Controller and CFO in making informed decisions regarding the Company’s cash needs on a weekly and monthly basis. Tasks needed to perform this duty includes weekly and monthly cash projections, analysis of cash needs and providing solutions, cash flow trending per job, financial contract template maintenance, maintenance and reporting the Company’s banking facilities, budgeting updates, cash disbursements, and reconciling the line of credit ledger at month end.

Desired Qualifications:
  • 2 - 4 year’s experience in cash management. Construction industry experience desired
  • Accounting degree – CPA/MBA a plus
  • Strong technology skills with a particular proficiency in Microsoft excel, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • High analytical and math skills needed
  • Familiarity with bank cash management systems
  • Timberline experience highly desirable
  • Excellent organizational and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Ability to work well with a team or as an individual, with minimum supervision
  • Capable of working flexible hours, including some over-time during high volume periods
  • A self-starter who possesses an attention to detail
  • Ability to work with multiple offices
Position Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
  • Compilation of weekly cash projection
  • Analyzing weekly cash projections and updating on an ongoing basis
  • Compilation of monthly cash projection
  • Analyzing monthly cash projection and updating on an ongoing basis
  • Review projections regularly with Controller and/or CFO to discuss the cash position.
  • Coordinate with AP administrator to determine all known invoices are accounted for in our system and determine any critical upcoming payments due
  • Coordinate with AR administrator to forecast weekly and monthly cash receipts
  • Coordination with the Finance team to determine PPA funding schedules
  • Cash disbursement
  • Organization of the check run including set-up and printing of checks
  • Scheduling payment for online vendors
  • Processing of check requests
  • Processing of wire payments
  • Maintain an acceptable daily cash balance
  • Preparing the monthly Cash Flow Variance report for management
  • Determining interest allocation to the appropriate jobs based on cash position and interest expense bimonthly
  • Reconciliation of outstanding line of credits to the general ledger
  • Maintenance and reporting current banking facilities to management
  • Assist Controller in preparing the annual budgets and quarterly updates.
  • Timely updating of Standard Operating Procedures memorandums annually
  • Preparing and processing daily deposits for cash receipts
