Description

The US Finance NAIC Life Actuarial team is looking for an adaptable Financial Analyst who welcomes a fast paced and dynamic business environment and is looking for an opportunity to play an integral role in key project initiatives focusing on continuous process improvement and service excellence.

US Finance NAIC Life Actuarial is responsible for the valuation and preparation of financial reporting statements for the US Life Insurance business.

As a member of the team, you will work closely with key stakeholders in US Life and multiple Shared Services areas including US Controllers, Tax, and Reinsurance.

Responsibilities:
·

Providing support for quarter-end and year-end financial reporting including preparing Annual Statement exhibits, schedules, and industry surveys;

·

Providing financial analysis for US Life;

·

Maintaining and enhancing controls; liaising with internal and external auditors and regulatory bodies; ensuring sufficient audit trails to satisfy internal and external audits and appropriate regulatory bodies;

·

Consolidating and evaluating information requests and providing appropriately validated responses;

·

Identifying and evaluating alternative solutions for information needs; identifying potential information gaps in proposed business/system projects and recommending appropriate solutions;

·

Responsibilities will include such tasks as: data gathering, developing centralized data repositories, needs analysis, identifying areas of weakness or poor information quality, cost benefit analysis, and writing business requirements and impact assessment documents;

·

Providing documentation of processes.;

·

Ensuring that information includes appropriate reconciliations and data validation including reviewing information requests for applicability and requesting clarification or changes where appropriate;

·

Implementing process improvements in a timely manner to meet stakeholder requirements and controlling the information exchange/flow;

·

Providing ad-hoc and steady state reports to business management.

Qualifications:
·

Strong business knowledge (Insurance fundamentals, product knowledge, accounting);

·

Strong background in Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, and Access;

·

Working knowledge of AXIS or Essbase/Lawson would be a positive;

·

Strong ability to work within tight deadlines;

·

2-4 years business experience.
