This position will provide analytic support for Mercury’s credit card processing operation as a member of the Merchant Services department. The analyst will interact with a broad range of departments including Risk, Underwriting, Business Intelligence, Accounting, Finance, and IT. The role involves working with these internal teams to deliver high quality outputs that meet needs of Mercury’s business. The role requires financial and operational data analysis, report building, budget reconciliation, and forecasting. The individual will become a subject matter expert in multiple areas and proactively seek out areas for internal improvement while devising methods to develop those processes. High caliber analytical and technical skills are required and used frequently.
Essential Functions include the following. Others may be assigned.
Completes Merchant Services report requests as assigned with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy
Performs ad-hoc operation and financial analysis
Participates in budget reconciliation and variance analysis
Uses and applies intermediate to advanced Excel techniques and tools; continues to seek out more effective technical resources, tools, and methods
Presents reporting and analyses in professional manner, primarily using Excel and PowerPoint
Documents processes and procedures
Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of products and services
Actively participates in team meetings and 1 on 1 communications
Provides manager with proactive updates
Accepts assignments with open, cooperative, positive, and team oriented attitude
Proactively increases knowledge through internal resources, supervisors, fellow employees, company trainings, and trade publications

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business or other related discipline
and at least 3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance; Relevant experience includes: Financial Analysis/Modeling, Modeling Data Analysis/Modeling, Reporting, Forecasting

Advanced Excel knowledge and skills;

Advanced formula functions
Database functions
Strong mathematic and logic proficiency
Knowledge of all other Microsoft Office products
