Position Responsibilities
• Provide financial/management analysis support to the operations functions for process order close and reconciliation along with inventory on-hand balances
• Review system data and coordinate with operations to ensure correct product movement within milling manufacturing processes
• Control the inventory at all major storage locations and coordinate the monthly inventory counting process
• Ensure adherence to FIFO guidelines
• Identify and implement enhancement opportunities in current manufacturing processes, daily procedures, and controls
• Audit and seek approval for any inventory write offs prior to entering into SAP
• Perform on-site warehouse audits
• Monitor product and procedures at warehouses, when necessary
• Control the movement of new production, restages, and recalls, aged product and isolating this product when needed.
• Monitor:
o Negative Inventory Report
o Process Order Variance Report
o Daily Reconciliation of Process Order
o Verify all outbound products have been goods issued in SAP and inbound goods have been received and posted in SAP
o Usage of all outbound materials and correct reporting (including packaging, bags, seals, ingredients, and pallets)
o Inventory returns
• Analyze inventory movements of all weigh-over, tempering, blend/bulk, and blend/pack process orders
• Resolve all variances by identifying (1) what is wrong, (2) what should be happening, (3) the root cause of what went wrong, (4) the risk, and (5) the action plan to address the cause.
• Verify plant is in compliance with all inventory counting policies; create Standard Operating Procedure documents when necessary
• Assist in performing general accounting activities in the SAP general ledger, which includes preparing and uploading journal entries, running and analyzing enterprise reporting, and identifying and resolving unusual items and issues in a timely and accurate manner
• Create and maintain monthly accounting schedules as support for the balance sheet account reconciliations and financial audits
• Collaborate and communicate effectively in English (written and verbal) with various contacts from other mills and HQ on a frequent basis
• Prioritize multiple tasks/activities and adapt to changing priorities
• Alert management of situations that may materially affect the company’s overall financial condition
• Work in a diverse team environment both within and outside of assigned area of responsibility
• Participate in special projects involving general accounting, such as mergers/acquisitions, FASB updates, business partner requests, and systems conversions
• Participate functionally in change management, which is frequent and eminent
• Respond to information requests from external/internal auditors

Position Qualifications
Principal Requirements:
• Must be proactive, as opposed to reactive, to eliminate problems before they appear: properly balance planning and analysis on the front-end with effective execution to reduce extensive time and effort spent on the back-end to solve unforeseen problems
• Must be analytical and have the ability to take meaning from large amounts of data, e.g. identify unusual data points through trending, ratio analysis, etc.
• Must be a critical thinker who approaches problems with logic to address the root cause, rather than focus on symptoms of the cause
• Must have passion for the business, your profession, and be the driver of your own career development and growth
• Ability to quickly learn new technology (e.g. SAP) and processes
• Willingness and ability to learn new things; allow yourself to vulnerable by asking lots of questions and let others teach you
• Strong communication/documentation skills:
o Clear, complete, and concise communications
o Fluent (verbal and written) in English and Spanish, where English is the primary language
o Ability to effectively communicate with English speakers throughout North America
• Must be proactive and non-hesitant to constructively challenge current processes, employ good conflict resolution techniques, and offer and implement solutions
• Must be a problem-solver: you’re encouraged to ask for help, but after you’ve done your own due diligence in analyzing the problem and thinking through potential solutions first
• Must NOT be afraid to pick up the phone and call others in the Company for assistance/guidance
• Operate effectively and collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong organization and coordination skills
• Must be comfortable being out in the warehouse, mill, and grain elevator and working with the operations personnel
• Ability to adapt to intense, fast-paced, changing environments

Experience, Knowledge, and Training:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 3.2 GPA or higher
• 3+ years professional finance/accounting analysis experience; preferably with mix of audit experience in public accounting
• Proven ability to think critically: leverage analytics, process understanding, best practices and insights to generate meaningful financial/operational strategies and solutions
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive in responsibilities and completing tasks
• Experience learning new technology or information systems
• Desire to support and partner with the manufacturing operations, develop cost/inventory accounting knowledge, and advance within the company
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
• Business/office environment
• Occasional assistance required in the mill/elevator/warehouse
• Limited travel

Learning and Development Expected in Role:
• Learn SAP, AGRIS, and other accounting/information systems
• Learn the production process and its financial impacts and control points
• Develop financial accounting acumen and expertise associated with assigned areas of responsibility
• Enhance communication skills
• Build leadership skills
• Participate in continuing education
• Participate in monthly 1:1 coaching and performance mgmt. discussions with Manager
• Design and implement Individual Development Plan, with help from Manager, to reach the next step in your career
