A Financial Analyst who, under general direction and supervision of the Director of Business Development, performs duties as listed below:
Participate in the design and implementation of financial reporting, analytical tools, budgeting, and reporting systems.
Perform variance analysis of financial reports for entities and departments including determining the operational drivers and key indicators.
Train and assist management in the financial management of business units and departments.
Utilize Excel and other software to develop trend analysis, financial analysis techniques, forecasting, budgets, business plans, proformas, and other analytical methods.
Extract data and information from existing systems for analysis and accounting purposes.
Gain an understanding of health care reimbursement mechanisms and the principles and practices of Hospital financial management.
Prepare and review analytical/ financial reports as needed to support management.
Perform ad hoc projects as needed, or other duties assigned.
ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE : Accounting and financial theory, preferably in a hospital/healthcare environment. Possess a thorough understanding of financial statements, the general ledger (debit and credit relationships) financial analysis, reporting and planning including budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and variance analysis research tools.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS : Have experience with financial and analytical tools, forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, accounting practices, cost accounting, strategic planning, developing financial reports and tools, advance proficiency with Excel and financial systems. Healthcare experience a plus. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with accounting or finance concentration or similar required or equivalent experience in accounting and finance with proven skills. Minimum of one year of finance and accounting experience as stated above.
