Seattle BioMed has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join the Financial Strategy and Analysis Team (FS&A). FS&A partners with administration, operations, labs and leadership in providing data driven decision making support often leading to actionable recommendations. This support pertains to budgeting, forecasting, business development, short and long-term financial planning and strategic ad hoc business analysis. The Financial Analyst position actively supports organizational forecasting and budgeting process. This includes both annual and multi-year financial plans and related analyses.
Support both short and long-range financial budgets and forecasting, including development of financial models, revenue/expense projections and cash flow forecasting tools.
Act as an internal financial consultant and valued liaison to provide financial guidance, data delivery, strategic and tactical analysis as well as recommendations to internal partners.
Utilize business intelligence tools such as Tableau and collaboration tools like Share Point in communicating financial information at department and operational level.
Champion continuous process improvement in order to improve on the timing and delivery of budget and forecasting information as well as analysis with other business areas.
Review financial and operational problems with respective stakeholders and partner cross-functionally in the development of solutions.
Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc analysis to diverse audiences across the organization
Successful Candidates will have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or equivalent combination of education and work experience, Master’s Degree in Business, Finance or Economics or related field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in an analytical role, with emphasis on financial analysis, budgeting, revenue and expense forecasting, or related work
Expertise in manipulating data using Microsoft Excel, including experience with Lookups and PivotTables, experience with databases, data marts and SQL is a strong plus
Familiarity with grant accounting, project cost accounting and/or federal grants and related compliance
Preference for experience in a Biotech, Research and not-for-profit environments
Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications
