Job Summary:

Candidate should have 5+ years of Accounting and Financial Reporting experience. Needs the ability to prepare, analyze and distribute monthly financial information internal to management and external to our corporate headquarters in Germany. The key areas of responsibility will be supporting monthly financial reporting including quarterly disclosure requirements, analysis of operating expense for the company as well as assigned departments and manage the budgeting and forecast tool for operating expenses. Candidate should be proficient in Excel, Access and PowerPoint.

Key Responsibilities: 

Support the reporting of the monthly financial results for the four legal entities that make up the results of SFS which includes Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow and necessary adjustments. On a quarterly basis the financial disclosure requirements need to be prepared and submitted. This is done on the fourth business day for the financial results and the sixth business day for the financial disclosures. 
Analyze total Company results for major fluctuations by account. Provide monthly commentary to internal management highlight material items in the balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. 
Prepare and analyze a monthly analysis of the results adjusted for one time special effects to show the normalized trends. 
Prepare necessary reconciliations of the reporting data. Each month the legal entity reporting is reconciled to the internal management reporting via Excel develop tools. In addition, the reported financial data is reconciled to the data in the general ledger to ensure no changes were made. 
Report other Siemens specific reporting relating the shared costs. 
Prepare an analysis of monthly operating expenses which includes a comparison to budget and forecast information. A report of the quarterly variances by cost center is reviewed with the heads of each department and the Controller. 
Manage the central allocations for the organization (e.g. acctg, legal, and IT). Prepare a tracking report of these expense compared to the budget. Also responsible for the budget of the allocation keys and reviewing/updating the keys on a semi-annual basis. 
Analyze and report on intercompany cost transfers in and out. Compare to budgeted amounts and report on deviations. Assist in the budgeting and tracking of these items 
Review and update procedures and controls (SOA/ICS) as it pertains to the related portfolio and area of responsibility. 
Assist in the preparation of the monthly financial package, prepare additional charts and graphs. 
Back up other colleagues during critical times and cross train where necessary. 
Willingness to recommend areas of improvement to management to create efficiencies and / or cost savings 
Complete assigned Siemens financial training courses 
Willing to assume and complete special projects and / or other assignments as delegated by management. 
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: 
Education: B.S. / B.A. in Accounting or Finance 
Experience: 5+ years of accounting and / or financial reporting experience required, Financial Service Industry experience is a plus 
Other skills and abilities: Must have a comprehensive knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook). SAP General Ledger & Hyperion (HFM) knowledge is a plus.
