The Sutton OSB mill is located in the geographic center of West Virginia with great access to outdoor recreation and is considered a sportsman’s paradise. The mill is located between Morgantown and Charleston, WV just off I79.

This is a new position to be located at the Sutton, WV OSB mill. This position is part of the OSB manufacturing organization and reports to the Finance & Planning Manager. This is a full-time, exempt position.

As with all roles within Weyerhaeuser, safety is the most important aspect. This role will always focus on safety first. The primary focus of this role will be to handle the basic financial support and decision analysis for Sutton and support closing activities for multiple OSB sites. As the selected candidate gains skills and knowledge of Weyerhaeuser financial processes, he/she will be expected to take on more complex, analytical tasks, assume full responsibility for Sutton’s financial support and assist with OSB business level analytical work. Limited travel may be required.

Key Functions: Performs end of month financial closing for three OSB Mills (Sutton, Elkin, Grayling) activities in conjunction with the Corporate Business Accounting Team. Champions the gainsharing effort for the Sutton site (including the quarterly updates) as well as the payout calculations. May also include other sites as experience grows. Responsible for internal controls environment at Sutton ensuring internal controls are appropriate and operating, monitored for compliance and aligned with corporate guidelines; and responds to audit issues and implements action plans for improvements in internal controls as required. Performs site support for accounting and financial needs (e.g.; education regarding new accounting processes and/or assistance with implementation). Works with mill leadership to identify, quantify and track earnings improvement initiatives. Leads the PACE process for small pool capital projects and assists with cost/benefit analysis. Provides ad hoc reporting for Sutton organization and/or other mills (e.g.; weekly spending). Responsible for Sutton product costing including Bill of Material updates in SAP. Conducts fixed asset inventories including mobile equipment as required by Corporate guidelines. Preparation of surveys as required by Corporate or legal agencies. Gains an understanding of the manufacturing process. Works with the Finance and Planning Managers for Elkin and Grayling on longer term development opportunities. Other responsibilities as needed and determined by the Finance & Planning Manager.

This role will evolve after 2+ years of progressive responsibility to include: Focal point for the monthly S&OP (forecasting) process for Sutton. Will lead strategic planning process to include providing input on potential solutions to issues (including continuous improvement process). Responsible for the financial analysis of all capital projects for Sutton. Is an active member of the Sutton Leadership Team with full participation. Other responsibilities as needed and determined by the Sutton Organization and/or Business Finance Director.

Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of financial, analytical or other relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics. Must demonstrate analytical, problem solving, and leadership skills. Demonstrated leadership skills are required and necessary to progress within the company. Must demonstrate initiative without direct supervision. Excellent organizational and planning skills with demonstrated ability to successfully prioritize and manage multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines. Ability to establish positive relationships with mill leadership. Successful experience working with and/or within cross functional teams. Advance computer skills in Microsoft Office suite. Strong oral and written communication skills. Willingness and ability to wear required PPE when in manufacturing facility.
