Assist uninsured and underinsured patients and families in meeting their financial obligations for care. Activities include interviewing patients and families to ensure accurate and comprehensive financial information is obtained, coordinating with insurance carriers to determine healthcare coverage and options, advising patients of available financial assistance programs, and assisting families in the completion of applications. Applicant will also ensure all patient information is obtained, calculation and collection of patient residual balances and prior balances consistent with the policies of Steward Holy Family Hospital.
Associate degree in business or healthcare field preferred. Minimum 2-3 years in Patient registration and/or Financial Counseling in a hospital or large clinic with a current working knowledge of registration, insurance, and billing requirements. Previous experience as a financial counselor preferred. Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
