The Financial Education Consultant is charged with providing educational consulting services to the employees of assigned defined contribution retirement plan clients about the importance of saving and investing for retirement. Included in this responsibility is the ability to be flexible, manage one’s own schedule, expense reporting and travel throughout the United States 60% (or more) of the year.
Support the implementation of education deliverables within client communication plans for all clients
Demonstrate subject matter expertise related to retirement plans, investment knowledge, financial planning, and impacts of current economic conditions through the delivery of financial education presentations to retirement plan participants
Submit travel expenses in a timely manner
Track and report monthly individual metrics to management to demonstrate business impact and results
Actively participate on project teams and provide education consultation and support for department-wide initiatives.
Client responsibilities as appropriate
Document and assimilate client information with teammates on network databases.
Participate with new business development. Responsibilities may include presenting communication and education capabilities to prospective clients, consulting on prospective clients, consulting on prospective situations, writing case studies and responding to proposal inquiries.
Develop, deliver and evaluate new participant educational content in support of Audience of One® initiatives as well as individual clients and prospects.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
Thorough understanding of investment and industry rules and regulations, particularly as they relate to communications with the public
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, communications, marketing, journalism or related field required
FINRA Series 7 and 63 required.
Series 65 or 66 is preferred
Solid writing and presentation/public speaking skills required
Strong organizational skills required
Knowledge of financial industry, mutual funds industry and retirement plans strongly preferred
Strong consultative, relationship management and partnership skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and develop solid working partnerships with peers and colleagues required
Experience managing towards specific metrics/goals for success strongly preferred
Ability to be flexible and work in a continuously changing environment
Spanish speaking capabilities are preferred
Extended travel (60% or more) may be required
Standing for long periods of time

Ability to work evenings and weekends may be required
