Job Title: Financial Planning & Systems Accountant
Reports to: Financial Planning & Analysis Manager
Job Type: Salary; Full time; Non-Exempt
Location: Louisville, Colorado
Targeted Start Date: March 2013
Job Duties and Candidate Qualities:
Real Capital Solutions (RCS), a highly entrepreneurial real estate company, seeks a highly analytical and detail-oriented individual to assist the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager with forecasting cash flows and performance of RCS’ real estate deals. The position will be responsible for a number of projects including:

  • Forecasting cash flows and performance of real estate deals
  • Forecasting loan and contingent liability projections
  • Perform variance analysis and work with Asset Managers to close gaps in performance
  • Provide information to the business that is key to decision-making
  • Maintain budgets in accounting reporting systems

Responsibilities include:

  • Forecasting

o Work closely with Asset Managers and the Accounting team to execute detailed review of performance and forecast to date each real estate deal
o Effect cost and revenue analysis to assist Asset Managers and the Executive team with decision-making
o Create accurate cash flow forecasting from projects to support RCS’ cash management objectives
o Detailed forecast of loan balances and contingent liabilities of the owner and the business

  • Systems Accounting

o Assume ownership of the Financial Reporting software including the upload of budgets as needed for comparison purposes
o Ensuring the TM1 software solution is maintained, available and to ensure complete data integrity, the independent review and development of system infrastructure and core reports and managing the security and access rights for all users
o Provide financial project support to various ad hoc tasks, and define and manage the roll out of the system to specific users
o Assist accounting with month end close including reconciliations and financial reporting as needed

  • Other

o Assist with preparing the semi-annual Advisor Report
o Assist with market research to update acquisition plans and benchmarking RCS’ performance
o Assist with the annual budget process

Desired Requirements:

  • Must be able to work a schedule of 8:00am to 6:00pm, Monday through Friday
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business (Accounting/Finance focused) with a minimum 3.2GPA
  • Thorough understanding of business principles such as cash flow, IRR, etc. and real estate fundamentals in particular
  • Solid understanding of all products in Microsoft Office Suite, highly proficient with MS Excel is a must, good working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint would be very helpful
  • Knowledge/experience with TM1 software and MRI is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task as there can be a number of different priorities to balance
  • Extremely organized, and excellent with time management – this role will involve working to tight and sometimes difficult deadlines
  • A customer service, ‘can-do’ attitude; Positive and friendly outlook
  • Happy to work either independently or as part of a team – this role will alternate between these circumstances skills must include high level of accuracy and a desire to review and develop software solutions to support the business
