Job Summary

Assists with the timely/accurate recording and reporting of financial activity for Spruce Pine operations. Focus on ensuring that financial reporting is accurate, timely and can be relied on by internal and external users. Work closely with Plant Controller, Operations Manager and Plant Accountant to perform financial and operational analysis of production.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Financial Reporting
· Assist with consolidation of plant financial statements – review and summarize actual, budget and forecast results
· Coordinate reporting issues with international partners
· Prepare monthly analysis for the provisions and book the necessary entries (workers comp, group health care, legal fees, bonus accrual, etc…)
· Manage the Fixed Asset and Capital Expenditure reporting processes
· Perform monthly sales/receivables confirmations with related parties
· Prepare and review Balance Sheet account reconciliations

Financial Analysis
· Assist with consolidation of monthly variance analysis and explanations
· Lead the monthly internal reporting process for Inventory, Sales and Production
· Assist with the compilation of plant Cash Flow and Profit & Loss forecasts

Budgeting and Process Control
· Review and approve purchase orders and disbursements within set threshold
· Assist with the preparation and review of the annual budget
· Assist with the preparation and review of standard production costs
· Assist with ongoing process control improvement projects
· Partner with Project Managers to control and review Capital Expenditure projects

· Perform or assist with special projects as needed
· Assist with providing support for external auditor

Skills and Attributes Requirements

· Strong analytical skills – must be an active problem solver
· Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and meet deadlines
· Very strong Excel skills required – General Ledger experience is a plus
· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees
· Team player with a positive attitude

Education/Experience Requirements

· Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
· Two to 5 years of accounting/financial experience

Required Activities

· Physical requirements are those of a standard office
· Sitting 70% of time and walking/standing 30% of time
· Travel required between local plant sites and out of state
· More travel may be required during onboarding/training
