The Financial Services Advisor (FSA) advises students throughout their educational tenure with ATI by providing an understanding of their fiscal responsibility training such as: credit awareness, budgeting, and the importance of loan repayment. The goal is to establish and sustain a healthy trust and rapport with students to increase retention and to encourage students to communicate with the FSA should they encounter financial difficulties in repaying educational loans. The objective is to assist students in avoiding delinquency on their student loans, thereby lowering the campus’ default rate percentage.

The FSA should mirror their hours to the needs of the campus(es) that they service. A typical schedule would include three early days (9am - 6pm) and two late days (10:30am - 7:30pm). This job is eligible for overtime pay.

 Conduct daily phone, e-mail, and personal contact with active and inactive students (and their references) regarding the financial management of their loans
 Reconcile student account balances and statuses with the ATI Career Training Loan servicer
 Record information about financial status of students and status of collection efforts in CampusVue
 Maintain contact with student loan firms (lending institutions, guarantee agencies, and default management services)
 Conduct classroom presentations to discuss the financial management options of student loans available to students
 Work as a liaison between the institution, third party default management agencies and lenders to ensure the student is aware of the requirements of a deferment and forbearance
 Conduct exit counseling for all students prior to their anticipated graduation date to ensure they are familiar with the financial management options of student loans, their repayment requirements, and repayment options
 Monitor default management reports and contact students who are at risk of default to complete a deferment or forbearance application
 Monitor past due reports and contact delinquent in-school students for minimum monthly payments, establishing a timeline and payment plan to bring student to current status
 Work with other departments to schedule activities to encourage on-time payments
 Manage ATI Career Training Loans including application completion, receipt of funds, and timely depositing of money
 Monitor and update third party collection agencies
 Work with other departments in providing information to students who might qualify for additional funding, job resources, etc.
 Other duties as assigned

 High school diploma or equivalent from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
 Strong commitment to customer service, as well as excellent organizational, interpersonal, and presentation skills
 Comfortable with public speaking and have the willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
 Proficiency with MS Office
 Handle school information, including but not limited to, regulatory information, student account balances and payment history, exposure to personal information including names, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays, and Social Security numbers with confidentiality
 Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations

 Some college coursework from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
 Previous experience in collections or loan servicing
 CampusVue proficiency is a plus
