Provides a full range of services to members and prospective members with emphasis on selling new accounts and consumer loan products. Suggests other appropriate TDECU products and services to accommodate member needs. Interviews loan applications and utilizes credit scoring technique in loan decisions. Prepares all approved consumer loans for funding. Refers all rejected loans to another Financial Service Representative to obtain a second opinion with regards to loan decisions. Answers a variety of member inquiries in person, via e-mail, and by telephone. Performs all other duties as assigned. Implements and performs according to the established TDECU REAL standards.

1. Member Service

Opens and processes new membership and time deposit accounts including IRA's, certificates of deposit, and money market accounts.

Interviews loan applicants regarding consumer loans and counsels members regarding appropriate products or services to accommodate member needs.

Provides members with information on deposit accounts, rates, service charges, restrictions, and other relevant account information.

Researches problems and responds to member inquiries on account status, debit card or check fraud, automatic check holds, courtesy pay, loan adjustments, and other related issues.

Educates members on TDECU services and promotions, answers questions, and directs members to appropriate department for specialized services.

2. Document Preparation / Administration / Auditing

Prepares paperwork for opening new accounts and cross sells other TDECU products such as online banking, ordering debit cards, and establishing checking accounts.

Verifies and audits consumer loans for signature accuracy, corrections and possible errors, and discards pending loans over thirty days old.

Processes loan applications, performs credit scoring, and employs loan decisions.

Refers all rejected loans to second Financial Service Representative for second loan decision processes. Prepares approved loans for funding.

Creates and maintains month end compliance reports.

Balances cashiers checks, debit cards, and ATM transactions.

3. Departmental Support

Assists with a variety of administrative duties including ordering departmental supplies, lobby preparation, receptionist duties, and notarial services.

Implements and performs according to established TDECU REAL Standards leading by example.

4. Compliance

Completes all mandatory compliance testing within designated time frames and other compliance assignments including Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Unusual Activity Reports (UAR), and Security processes.

5. Community Relations

Actively participates in community relations activities to represent the Credit Union.

Functional: Level 2

Performs and maintains acceptable production levels.

Demonstrates a basic understanding of new accounts and consumer loans.

Maintains a loan error rate equal to or less than established requirement.

Assists in all areas of the department including lobby, reception and safe deposit box area.

Functional: Level 3

Performs and maintains acceptable production levels.

Demonstrates a basic understanding of new accounts and consumer loans.

Maintains a loan error rate equal to or less than established requirement.

Assists in all areas of the department including lobby, reception and safe deposit box area.

Performs advance account transactions including IRA, guardianship, buys / sells, RV, Boat, etc.

Assists in performing Teller monthly cash audits, vault balancing, conducting interviews, and setting up contests.

Minimum Qualifications:
(Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

1. Education

High School diploma or equivalent experience is required.

Additional training is preferred.

2. Experience

Level 1: May require up to one year of similar or related work experience.

Level 2: One to two years experience including familiarity with member service, financial transactions, credit reporting, etc. required.

Level 3: Two to three years of similar or closely related work experience is required.

3. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Basic knowledge of procedure for opening new accounts, consumer lending practices, and banking procedures.

Strong working knowledge of relevant computer software including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Ability to prioritize tasks, organize, negotiate, and make effective decisions.

Communication skills both verbally and in writing.

Ability to read and interpret data efficiently.

Reading and comprehension skills required.

While performing the essential duties of this position, an employee would frequently be required to stand, walk, and sit.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Attendance Requirements:
Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. This means that the employee is required to report to work on time and must remain available to clients during scheduled hours.

This position requires face-to-face interaction in person or by telephone and e-mail with customers, clients, and vendors.
