We are currently looking for a Financial Systems Business Analyst for a direct hire with our client at its corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, IN .

The Financial Systems Business Analyst gathers and analyzes information on end user needs. Based on those needs, the incumbent plans for the technical support and development of critical business systems and manages the change.

This position manages the relationship between end users/customers and information technology, and maintains communication channels between user groups and IT support staff, both internal and external. The incumbent collaborates with business stakeholders and ensures high quality, on-time deliverables. This person also ensures seamless communication between and among the project teams and the business stakeholders. The Financial Systems Business Analyst manages multiple priorities and must be highly organized, motivated, and possess a sense of urgency to get things done. The incumbent collaborates with business functions to drive the appropriate use of technology - using technology to maximize efficiency & customer service, and to serve as a competitive advantage for the organization. The Financial Systems Business Analyst must continually challenge herself/himself, others, and “the system” in order to accomplish these goals. Specifically the Financial Systems Business Analyst should have extensive experience with JDE Enterprise 1 in the areas of general ledger, general accounting, costing, manufacturing accounting, billing and accounts receivable. Knowledge of other areas within JDE Enterprise 1, particularly AP/PO, the order to cash cycle, advanced pricing, and/or manufacturing execution are valuable. Microsoft office and SQL skills are highly preferred as is familiarity with job scheduling systems such as CA-Autosys. This position reports to the Business Analysis Manager.

Principal Accountabilities:
  • Consults with internal customers, defines the business processes involved in the functional area, and gains an understanding of the area’s information and technology needs

  • Collaborates with the customer to determine how the business process can change and improve from a technology standpoint. Conducts regular reviews with user departments, evaluating areas for improvement

  • Acts as leader and takes ownership of the entire application project management lifecycle

  • Performs research, attends relevant conferences and seminars, and works with product vendors. Recommends technology and software solutions, creates a business case for the solution, and presents recommendations to the decision-making persons

  • Provides for application analysis, functional design, and application development, testing and training for end users.

  • Trouble shoots and coordinates with support staff to resolve problems in application environments. This will include off hours and on-call support.

  • Fosters the development of a “super user” concept to extend the reach of applications support

  • Manages project solutions and meets users ’ needs in a timely, reliable, and cost effective manner

  • Coordinates with IS support staff to provide the highest possible levels of system availability, exceeding end-user requirements

  • Participates in the departmental budgeting process

  • Demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of the company ’ s computer systems

Education and Experience/Skills:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and 6-8 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree is a plus. This person must have highly developed and effective leadership and communication ( written and oral) skills. Must be able to build a cohesive team, serve as a role model, and enable others to act. Candidates must have demonstrated a strong work ethic throughout her/his professional experiences. Must possess both business knowledge and a thorough understanding of technology. Must be customer focused.
