Provide leadership in all aspects of financial planning, decision support, and strategic management reporting for the North America Region, enabling financial planning and reporting to deliver significant value to the business. Critical leadership role with financial and strategic involvement in all business areas of the North America region, working directly for the CFO, and supporting the regional CEO and his/her direct reports. Participate as a member of the Senior Finance Leadership Team in N. America, and the North America Finance Council.
Lead the continued development of automated and efficient common tools and processes, increasing the speed and value of financial analysis while reducing redundancy and resource requirements. Specifically, lead the efforts to transform N.America management reporting to a highly automated, low-cost environment, while shifting resources to high value business partnering projects.
Develop a high-value network of talent for decision support across the region. Recruit, retain and reward the best performance and potential in the team (approximately 10-15 direct reports; 50+ indirect network).
Lead regional initiatives, including the regional FP&A council, and interface with the Global FP&A council. Examples of initiatives include pricing, productivity, cross selling, and others.
Lead in development and deployment of key metrics and analysis to achieve strategic objectives; specifically for global innovation, cross-selling, and profitability.
Develop and/or review financial models in support of potential business development investments, including M&A opportunities. Coordinate and participate in the investment approval process.
Ensure sufficient resources, tools and process in place to carry out regional and global requirements for financial planning and management reporting, including the Strategic Planning process, Annual Budget, Mid-Year Forecast, and Bi-Monthly forecasts (MMC).
Coordinate the quarterly North America strategic process, and lead the development of financial models for the three year planning horizon.
Qualifications Required Education/Skills:
MBA required, CPA a plus
Leadership skills. An organized, team-oriented senior leader who is both tactical and strategic with a proven record of working as a business partner with both staff and line managers. An ability to build peer relationships and work effectively with a broad range of executives at all operating levels. Demonstrate change leadership capability.
Finance acumen. Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills. Aptitude and innate ability at finance and strong quantitative analysis.
Business acumen. Capable of insightful P&L analysis. Understands and is able to assess and identify the key drivers of profitability.
Interpersonal Skills. A polished professional with strong verbal and written communication skills. A person who can be effective and persuasive with people across multiple disciplines and across all levels of the company.
Work Ethic. An action-oriented person; a self-directed leader with a strong sense of urgency and excellent leadership skills, capable of both giving attention to detail and focusing on the broader business picture. A thorough individual who demonstrates a high degree of objectivity in solving problems and assessing opportunities. · Team Building. Ten plus years of financial experience, primarily in a large, complex publicly traded environment.
Financial reporting and analysis experience, with proven leadership and analytical skills in a variety of functional areas (i.e. planning, budgeting, profitability analysis, and reporting).
Experience as a business partner to the leadership team of a business group or business unit.
Hands-on experience working with IT professionals in building effective financial reporting and analysis tools and databases. Experience implementing large, complex financial systems.
