We serve customers in more than 20 markets including the automotive, appliance, construction, container, pipe and tubing, distribution, converter and service center industries.

In addition, a new, state-of-the-art electric arc furnace operation in Columbus, Mississippi, serves the growing demand for steel in the southeastern United States. Maintain fire system inspection documentation consistent with current MIOSHA and NFPA requirements
Maintain standard operating procedures and training records for Advanced Interior/Exterior Fire Brigade
Work closely with Security, Safety, Environmental, and UAW personnel to coordinate emergency response activities
Work closely with insurance providers and city officials on inspection recommendations and audits
Participate in fire system inspections, hot work permit audits and fire prevention equipment maintenance
Follow company policy regarding all health, safety and environmental procedures
All other duties as assigned
- Two years of experience in a plant environment
- MUST have completed Firefighter I and II courses
- Completed Hazmat 40 hour certification
- MUST have EMT license
- Extensive knowledge of fire suppression systems, detection systems and fire prevention requirements
- Knowledge of MIOSHA and NFPA standards
- Must be willing to work all shifts, any day of the week
- Ability to manage crisis and multiple tasks
