The First Aid (Amcare) Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the on-site first aid services program, “Amcare,” in the North America facilities. This person will partner with a site Safety Manager, HR Manager and operations teams in each Fulfillment Center to execute Amcare policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve the medical treatment of our injured Associates and the Amcare Policy. The Amcare Program Manager must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Safety, HR and Operations Teams and influence change through providing comprehensive assessments and by implementing solutions to improve the Amcare Program.
The Amcare Program Manager must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual must instruct and train Safety and HR Leaders in company about the Amcare Protocols and assist the site teams in incorporating the Amcare Program at the fulfillment centers. The Amcare Program Manager will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our Amcare standards to continuously improve the treatment of our Associates. The Amcare Program Manager will be required to possess excellent first aid, safety program and relevant medical, legal and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with Operations.
The Amcare Program Manager will be responsible to develop the standard work for all Amcare Associates. This individual must partner with the Site Safety Manager and create and execute leadership development plans for their Amcare Associates.
First Aid (Amcare) Program Manager Responsibilities:
Possess a thorough understanding of first aid practices, local/regional safety regulations, and company first aid policy.
Provide guidance and assistance to fulfillment centers to comply with the Amazon Amcare First Aid Program.
Review and revise (as appropriate) the Amcare Associate Care Manual and lead implementing required changes in the network.
Develop, execute and monitor compliance to a standard Amazon Bloodborne Program and Exposure Control Plan.
Develop, execute and monitor compliance to a standard Amazon AED Program.
Develop a training program for Amcare Associates to ensure they are in trained in current Amazon Amcare Program and have all required up-to-date training to perform first aid activities.
Audit the sites’ performance against published requirements in the Amcare Protocol. For all deficiencies, identify a plan for the site to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.
Manager the Amcare vendor contracts and ensure these vendors are providing the required responsibilities
Develop Health and wellness initiatives for the network.
Analyze safety metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to discover trends to justify the allocation of appropriate Amcare resources to areas where the safety risk is highest.
Perform frequent site Amcare audits to identify all non-compliance equipment and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other FCs.
Audit recordkeeping practices and Global Safety Database and OHM entries to ensure compliance to global safety standards and local regulations. A completed Bachelor’s degree in Safety, ergonomics or a related field
Candidates must be flexible regarding shifts.
Certified Safety Professional
Experience in a fast paced, changing/growing organization
Experience in managing first aid or medical programs
3+ years of increasing responsibilities in safety and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations
Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
EMT experience preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders
Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability.
