Job Summary/Essential Functions :
Provides Training for University Finance System and Fiscal Operating Procedures
Prepares Financial Analysis and Benchmarks
Documents Procedures and Evaluates Internal Controls
Prepares Transactions and Reconciliations for the Statewide Accounting System
Provides Cross-training and Fiscal Support
Conditions of Employment : This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt or, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check for continued employment. This position requires a valid driver's license. This is an agency shop position.

Minimum Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or closely related fieldTwo years of working in a professional accounting or auditing environment.Two years experience with analysis of large data sets, including evaluation of findings that required data query, analysis, and reporting.Experience with relational database tools and queries.Experience with accounting principles.Experience with spreadsheets, tables and charts or similar tools (e.g., Microsoft Office).Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.
Preferred Qualifications : Progressive experience using financial and quantitative tools for modeling, analysis, reporting and the ability to think strategically and analytically, solve problems and make solutions-oriented recommendations and decisions.Proficiency working with an ERP/integrated technology, including data query and extraction.Experience with fiscal report design and preparation.Two years experience with analysis of large data sets, including evaluation of findings that required data query, analysis, and reporting.Experience with internal control evaluation and/or audit techniques.Strong oral and written communication skills.Prior experience in a higher education or governmental setting.Experience with interpretation and application of governmental accounting standards.
