The mission of the Forestry Division is to manage and reduce wildfire risk to Arizona's communities, and
wild land areas; and provide forest resource stewardship through strategic implementation of forest health
policies and cooperative forestry assistance programs. The Forestry Division provides for the prevention and
suppression of wildfires on more than 22 million acres of state and private lands. They are currently looking for a Fiscal Services Specialist 2 to join their team!
This position is responsible for providing fiscal and administrative services for all three of the fire management districts. Processing payables for fire bills assuring billing is accurate for payment, auditing aircraft bills to determine payment scheduling. Pay claims accordingly, resolving fiscal and wild land fire payment and claim issues assuring all supporting documents and aircraft logs are retained. Maintaining aircraft rental agreements from the Federal Office of Aviation Safety. Responsible for developing and preparing training materials and manuals as well as maintain training records; presents financial training to fire departments.
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
-Government accounting practices and techniques including USAS
-Rules and regulations governing the expenditure of funds from the Governor's Emergency fund
-Fire terms, functions and activities, fire suppression programs and incident command systems organization
-Computers, Arizona Financial Information System, Excel and Word programs
-Principles of Training
-Analytical, computer and computation skills
-Maintaining effective working relations with cooperators, fire staff, office personnel
-Organization and time management skills
-Clear and effective communication skills
-Complete tasks timely and accurately, follow directives proficiently
-Provide excellent customer service to a variety of agencies, staff and vendors
-Associate Accounting Degree and/or 3 or more years of accounting work experience.
-Arizona Drivers License
