Working Title : Fiscal Specialist 1-Student Financial Services

Job Summary/Essential Functions : The Fiscal Specialist 1 performs detailed fiscal work under general supervision of the Fiscal Specialist Supervisor. The position uses an automated system to record accounts receivable information into the accounting system, initiates processing of complex cashiering transactions, receives, reconciles and enters activity for specific programs at Eastern Washington University and maintains and reconciles all purchasing activity for the Student Financial Services department. This position also maintains and archives all of the records for the department.

Conditions of Employment : This position, during the course of university employment, will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value; as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults, or children under the age of 16. Successful applicant will be required to pass a background check. This is an agency shop position.

Minimum Qualifications :

Associates Degree or equivalent credit hours in business related major

1-2 years of work experience requiring excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively

Three years of fiscal record keeping experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word and Outlook)

Demonstrated successful experience working accurately with numbers

Candidate must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity.

Preferred Qualifications :

Accounting experience in higher education

Experience working with Banner ERP system

Associates degree in Accounting
