Southern Nuclear, headquartered in Birmingham, AL, operates Southern Company's six nuclear reactors at three locations in Georgia and Alabama: two reactors at Plant Vogtle, near Waynesboro, GA; two reactors at Plant Hatch, near Baxley, GA; and two reactors at Plant Farley, near Dothan, AL. We currently have opportunities located at our corporate headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama for a Fleet Reporting Specialist.
FLEET REPORTING SPECIALIST (BIRMINGHAM, AL)
Develops and implements state of the art information technology strategies and platforms that meet current and future business needs in regards to performance monitoring, reporting, and metrics. Responsible for the governance and oversight of fleet reporting and metrics and is the single point of contact for all things related to the interface of reporting solutions software and fleet standard reports. Soley responsible to ensure all metrics are common in output and are using the same standard inputs in accordance with AP-928 and fleet governing documents. Mentors site level reporting specialists to ensure consistency is in place across the fleet and helps generate complicated reports for site business needs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE ASSETS
Related Work Experience - 10 years related work experience in Information Systems, 5-7 years experience with database technology.
Technical Skills - Knowledge of SQL database running in a Microsoft environment. Experience with SQL tool set for database maintenance and development. Knowledge of business application a plus. Experience supporting SQL applications in a high tech environment. Experience with SQL workflow design and implementation a plus.
Non-Technical Skills - Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self starter, ability to work without supervision on short term projects. Excellent telephone skills, knowledge of troubleshooting using vendors.
Communication Skills - Must have keen judgment to prioritize, plan, execute and accomplish goals in timely manner with accurate results. Ability to successfully interface with customers, professionals, technicians, clinicians, and managerial staff.
Experience with ESOMs / Maximo / P6
Education - BA in Business of Information Systems preferred.
Current or previous experience with work management, operations, or maintenance
Working knowledge of mainframe and PC based scheduling tools
FLS / managerial experience
Works directly with the Site Reporting Specialists, Work Week Managers, and Work Controls Managers to oversee fleet standard reporting and metrics to ensure sound logic is applied and consistency is being maintained throughout the fleet in accordance with procedures, processes, and goals.
Provides mentoring function over the site reporting specialists. Mentors, coaches, trains and develops reporting specialists to ensure a consistent approach to metrics and reporting in accordance with governing documents.
Develops and tests new reporting solutions to help address and monitor fleet gaps. Continuously searching for improvement opportunities to improve fleet work management efficiency and address areas of concern. Assists the site level reporting specialists in creation of specific work management metrics or reports.
Prepares monthly fleet scorecard to assist the CFAM with governance and oversight monitoring of the work management program.
Participates in industry conferences to ensure Southern Nuclear is adopting best practices in regards to business reporting solutions.
