The Accounting Manager supervises the banking staff within Cornucopia Foods (CF). This position is responsible for maintaining the general ledger for CF, assisting with the CF annual budget, preparing variance reports, and other financial reports as required by management or the controller. The Accounting Manager is responsible for providing much of the information and schedules of CF to outside auditors

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees, prepares, reviews and analyzes account reconciliations to the general ledger
• Responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements
• Responsible for compiling the CF annual budget for review
• Responsible for the design and maintenance of various financial and statistical reports as requested by various managers, vice presidents, and the controller, both year round and during the fair
• Responsible for providing information and schedules to outside auditors
• Responsible for the banking operations of CF
• Coordinates with the other accounting groups in performing the above
• Monitors and audits the ordering, purchasing, storing, receiving, and issuing functions
• Responsible for reporting, on a timely basis, the costs of raw materials and other supplies as they relate to the Food and Beverage department
• Check food, beverage, and purchasing receiving reports, issues and transfers
• Prepare Daily Food and Beverage Flash Cost Reports
• Responsible for the month end inventory counts
• Verify the accuracy of the reports generated by Quest, Protobase and Activity
• Continuously study weaknesses in controls implemented and suggest improvements
• Develop metrics to compare Cornucopia Foods performance against industry standards
• Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Must have five (5) years general accounting or auditing experience, preferably with a public accounting firm, one (1) year in a food and beverage environment, and one year (1) year supervisory experience
• Must have a strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
• Requires good mathematical skills and the ability to operate a 10-key calculator and type by touch
• Must be able to analyze financial information quickly and accurately
• Must be able to work independently, be detailed oriented, and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Requires the ability to effectively present information, both written and verbally, in one-on-one and small group situations to managers, vendors and other employees of the organization
• Must have working knowledge of automated accounting systems and be proficient in systems including Excel and Word
• Position requires confidentiality and the highest standards of business ethics
• Requires the ability to work Friday through Tuesdays
Required Experience Physical Requirements of Job

1. Must have a valid California Driver License and reliable transportation
2. Must be able to lift 15 pounds
3. Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time
4. Must be able to move around the grounds, including climbing up and down stairs and retrieving documents in storage
5. Must be able to communicate over the telephone
6. Must be able to access, input, and retrieve data using the computer
