Plans, coordinates, supervises and evaluates the day-to-day operations of the catering and food services program for the Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center; plans and develops menus for special events; purchases food and maintains an adequate level of inventory for event needs; provides food budget recommendations and works with members to determine menu requests, costs and counts; ensures food service program operates in compliance with health standards and regulations; supervises, schedules, evaluates, and participates in the work of kitchen personnel including the cooking and serving of meals.

Required Experience:
Three years progressively responsible experience working in a catering environment with supervisory duties.

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
State-Issued Food Handling Certification
Safe Serve Certification
First Aid Certification

Knowledge of: the principles and practices of food preparation and management; proper cooking methods and procedures; meal planning techniques; acceptable food storage and cleaning techniques; the principles and practices of budget preparation and administration; and health regulations governing the operation of public kitchens. Ability to: lead, motivate, supervise and evaluate the work of subordinate employees; plan and cook nutritional, tasteful, and safe food for large groups in a timely manner; ensure kitchen appliances are properly operated and maintained; order food and kitchen supplies in a economical manner and to maintain an adequate level of inventory; ensure kitchen operations conform with local, state, and federal health regulations; communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing.

Required Education:
High School Diploma or G.E.D. with a Bachelor’s Degree in Food Service or Certificate from a Culinary Institute preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Compensation:
$15.50 - $16.50 hourly
