DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: FOOD PREPARATION, HANDLING • Assists in simple food preparation. • Properly wraps, dates, and stores food. • Properly uses a thermometer while cooking, serving and storing foods. • Completes daily temperature charts.
PRODUCTION • Assembles salads, deserts, and prepared foods. • Makes sandwiches from pre-sliced meats and prepared spreads. • Washes, cuts, and prepares fruits and vegetables. • Makes beverages, fountain, and ice cream items or other drinks and tubefeedings according to directions.
- Follow HACCP guidelines as they relate to preparation, serving, and storing food. • Communicates with fellow employees and supervisors in regard to shortages and quality of inventory. • Performs daily cleaning tasks as assigned and cosigns with supervisor. • Speaks only English while in areas where patient care is delivered and in public areas or whenever patients or apparent family members/friends are present of within hearing range unless patient care requires the use of another language.
SERVER • Sets up tray line according to standards. • Reads individual patient menus and places appropriate items on tray. • Portions prepared food. • Maintains tray line speed with accuracy for assigned station.
CASHIER • Cashiers accurately, efficiently, and with speed. CAFETERIA ATTENDANT • Portions and serves prepared foods. • Takes orders, assembles and serves food and beverages. • Sets up food counters according to standards.
- Stocks tray line serving areas before and after meal periods. DISHWASHER • Cleans and sanitizes silverware, plates, trays, soup bowls, mugs, tops, and underliners. Also cleans pots, pans, and utensils. Clean and sanitize dishmachine properly.
- Stock and properly store all cleaned items. GRILL PERSONNEL • Prepares grill items following HACCP procedures. • Takes initiative to assist at steam table salad bar/beverage area during slow service periods. • Stock grill area freezer before and after meal period.

- Replenish and stock food areas in the retail area; desserts, salad bar, deli bar, beverages, condiments, and flatware. • Cleans and clears tables, cleans walls, counters, furniture, and equipment in food service area and cafeteria. • Sets up, breaks down, transports and stores food and supplies.
